The Xiaomi Mi 10 Series already consists of a range of devices, from premium flagship devices like Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra to more affordable Mi 10T series devices to budget-friendly Mi 10i. Xiaomi has yet again launched a new phone under the Mi 10 series, while there are plenty of Xiaomi smartphones available in Nepal.
Xiaomi launched the Mi 10S in China on March 10 with a starting price of 3,299 yuan (around NPR 60,000) for the 8GB/128GB variant. We expect the starting price of Mi 10S in Nepal to be around NPR 70,000.
Xiaomi Mi 10S Overview
Mi 10S is the refreshed version of the last year’s Mi 10. But it inclines more toward the upcoming Mi 11.
Design and Display
The official poster of the phone released by the company shows the design of the device, which is similar to the Mi 10 Ultra. The back features two separate camera modules resting on top of a long rectangular platform like in the Mi 10 Ultra. The device will have three color options of Black, White, and Light Blue. The smartphone weighs 208 grams.
Talking about the display, it’s a curved display of 6.67 inches AMOLED panel with an FHD resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels in a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display has the protection of Gorilla Glass 5. It features a left-aligned punch-hole for the front camera. Similarly, it has a refresh rate of 90Hz.
Mi 10s features an in-display optical fingerprint scanner.
Processor and Memory
The Mi 10S is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, which comes as an upgrade to the Snapdragon 865 chipset used in Mi 10. The Snapdragon 870 is the same chipset used in the recently launched Redmi K40. It is further coupled with an octa-core, clocking up to the speed of 3.2 GHz. Adreno 650 handles the graphics of the Mi 10s.
The phone comes in a memory configuration of 8/12 GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128/256 GB of UFS3.0 storage. As for the software part, it will ship with MIUI 12 based on Android 10.
Camera
Xiaomi Mi 10S features a quad-camera setup on the rear side with the primary camera of 108 MP as in the newly launched Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. The camera module houses three other cameras: a 13 MP ultra-wide lens, a 2 MP macro lens, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a dual-LED flash. Upfront, the selfie camera is a 20 MP sensor.
Video options for the rear camera are 8K @30fps, 4K @30/60fps, 1080p @30/60/120fps, while the front camera can record the footage in 1080p @30fpsa and 720p @120fps.
Battery
The Mi 10S packs a 4780 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging technology. It can fill the charge up to 100% in 56 min. Meanwhile, the fast wireless charging of 30W, reverse charging of 10W is also feasible.
The device was also teased by DxOMark audio review, which scored an impressive 80 points for audio output, ranking it first in the DxO database. The device features a dual stereo setup with 0.7mm speaker amplitude which Harman Kardon tuned. However, it does not feature a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Xiaomi Mi 10S Expected Price in Nepal and Availability
The device is available in China at 3,299 Yuan for the 8/128 GB, 3,499 Yuan for the 8/256 GB, and 3,799 Yuan for the 12/256 GB. There are no words regarding the international launch of the device as of now; however, the expected price for the Xiaomi Mi 10S in Nepal is NPR 70,000 (8/128 GB), NPR 75,000 (8/256 GB), and NPR 80,000 (12/256 GB).
