Xiaomi launched Redmi 9T on 8th January 2021. It is the same smartphone as Redmi 9 Power, which is already available in Nepal. And now Xiaomi has also launched Redmi 9T in Nepal. Redmi 9T Overview
If you see the overall specifications of the Redmi 9T, the smartphone offers all the basic needs for the budget. It has a high refresh rate display, amazing design, good battery life, excellent stereo loudspeaker and good camera performance.
Design and Build Quality
The design of the Redmi 9T is similar to the Poco M3. Redmi 9T is all plastic except for the front panel. The back has an anti-fingerprint texture with a polycarbonate finish. A big branding of Redmi lies on the bottom; above it is a rectangular camera module. The smartphone has a water-repellent coating; however, it is not water-resistant.
A 6.53-inches of FHD+ Dot Drop Display is available with FHD+ resolution. It is TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified. The resolution is 1080 x 2340p with a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Similarly, the display has a Gorilla Glass 3 protection with a tear-drop notch housing the selfie.
A dedicated microSD card slot on the left-hand side, whereas the right-hand side has a power button and volume rockers. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also offered on the top. The smartphone has a USB Type-C port for charging.
The bezels on the front are thin on the side and thick on the top and bottom. It is available in four pretty color options: Twilight Blue, sunrise Orange, Ocean Green and Carbon Gray. The smartphone weighs 198 grams.
A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is present for easy and swift unlocking.
Performance
The smartphone employs a Snapdragon 662 chipset that has 11nm manufacturing technology. It uses an octa-core CPU, which is divided into two clusters of cores: 4×2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold cores and 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver cores. The former cores handle the more demanding tasks while the latter handle less demanding applications and energy efficiency. Adreno 610 GPU handles the graphics.
The available memory configurations are 4 or 6 GB RAM with 128 GB memory. The 64 GB model has a UFS 2.1 memory chip, while the 128 GB model has a UFS 2.2.
Redmi 9T boots Android 10 based on MIUI 12 out of the box. MIUI 12 is customizable with a sleek look.
Camera
A quad-camera in the Redmi 9T is a primary shooter of 48 MP, an ultra-wide camera of 8 MP, a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth camera.
The main camera has an aperture of f/1.8. Similarly, the ultra-wide camera has a field of view of 120-degree with an aperture of f/2.2. On the other hand, the depth camera and macro camera have an aperture of f/2.4 each.
The camera has a dedicated night mode and portrait mode. The portrait mode is available in the front camera as well.
The selfie camera has an 8 MP lens with an aperture of f/2.1.
The front and the back camera can record video in 1080p at 30fps. There is no EIS present.
Battery
The battery in Redmi 9T is a Li-Po 6,000 mAh. Due to the efficient chipset Snapdragon 662, the phone runs for quite a long time. It would need to be charged once in a couple of days. Likewise, the battery gives 28 days standby time, 56 hours of call time, 17 hours of video playback, and 195 hours of music playback.
The battery supports 18W charging. Around 25% of the battery fills in the first 30 minutes, while a full charge would take up to 3 hours. Xiaomi claims the Redmi 9T’s battery life span is 25% longer than other smartphones when kept at room temperature.
