On 14th May 2019, OnePlus launched its brand new smartphone OnePlus 7 Pro. It is the first time for the company to have a “Pro” variant of the smartphone; it has not let the name go down by providing the pro features. OnePlus 7 Pro, the most awaited smartphone which is available in Nepal, gets a price drop. The new starting price is NPR 75,000 for a 6/128 GB variant, while the price is NPR 90,900 for the 8/128 GB variant and NPR 99,000 for 12/256 GB.
OnePlus 7 Pro Overview
With every new release, OnePlus has been gaining approbation from the smartphone pundits. The Pro version of the phone continues to focus on the speed and the user experience, providing a 90Hz display. However, the high cost of the smartphone may abstain people from buying one though it has flagship features.
Design and Build Quality
It has a 6.67 inches Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display is curved and protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5, around which are thin bezels with the chin being the most prominent. On the top, it has a speaker and a pop-up camera for selfies. The back has a frosty finish giving us rid of the shiny glass.
Triple-cameras on the rear are arranged vertically at the center with a LED flash placed just below them. The branding of the OnePlus appears after the LED flash. On the left, there is a volume rocker whereas the right side has a power key and physical volume switch. The bottom of the smartphone features a USB Type-C port, a speaker grille, microphone, and a dual SIM tray.
You can unlock the phone using an in-display fingerprint sensor or facial recognition via a pop-up camera.
Performance
Powering the smartphone is Snapdragon 855 from Qualcomm coupled with octa-core clocking up to 2.85 GHz. Adreno 640 looks after the graphics of the device. Similarly, the processors combine with up to 12 GB of RAM (LPDDR4X). The phone uses 2-lane UFS 3.0 storage, offering faster storage speed.
OnePlus 7 Pro runs Android 9.0 (Pie) based on OxygenOS 10.0.5. OxygenOS now has a plethora of useful features.
Camera
A triple camera on the OnePlus has a 48 MP Sony IMX586 sensor primary camera, a 16 MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and an 8MP telephoto camera.
The main camera uses laser-assisted autofocus and phase detection autofocus. On the other hand, an ultra-wide camera has a 117-degree field of view. Similarly, the telephoto camera provides up to 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization.
Video options include 4K @30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps, and 720p@480fps.
Talking about the selfie camera, which comes with a pop-up, it is a 16 MP camera. The pop-up hides when you are not using the camera. Videos of 1080p@30fps are recordable from the selfie camera.
Battery
OnePlus 7 Pro has a monstrous 4,000 mAh battery. The battery supports 30W fast charging and Warp Charge.
It takes 30 minutes for the battery to fuel from 0% to 60%.
