Huawei FreeBuds 3 followed Apple’s Airpod design, but the new Huawei FreeBuds Pro has a fresh look.
Design and Build Quality
Huawei FreeBuds Pro has a delicate windproof structure with a fluid mechanical design. The design eliminated whistling sounds caused by air friction. The earbuds have a dual Anti-wind Noise Design where the two microphones are equipped with an anti-wind noise-cancellation tube to eliminate wind noise. A dual-antenna design of the Huawei FreeBuds Pro provides a wide signal coverage.
The earbuds of the Huawei FreeBuds Pro have a physical dimension of 26 x 29.6 x 21.7 mm. Each earbud weighs 6.1 grams, while the charging case alone weighs about 60 grams. The earbuds are available in three amazing colors: Silver Frost, Ceramic White, and Carbon Black.
The earbuds have touch controls, a long press switch to awareness mode, and reconnects with surroundings. Similarly, swiping up increases the volume, whereas swiping down decreases the volume. You can pinch once to play/pause music or answer/end a call. It plays the next song on pinching twice while on pinching three times, it plays the previous song.
To help you choose the best fit, the earplugs are available in three different sizes. The front and the ear cavity conduction has a unique design to balance the in-ear air pressure in and out; it also ensures air circulation to avoid discomfort.
Performance
Huawei FreeBuds Pro has an intelligent dynamic ANC. It recognizes the ambient sounds intelligently, and the earbuds switch to the noise cancellation mode accordingly to make your hearing experience more suitable.
Likewise, it also has Ultra Mode; with this mode, you can experience better audio while traveling with deeply enhanced noise cancellation. Further, the Cozy Mode keeps you focused by reducing noises from typing, computers, and paper flipping.
Next, the General Mode lets you enjoy the immersive music or game sounds in crowded places since the ambient noises are greatly reduced. Similarly, the unique Voice Mode reduces the ambient sound to make human voices stand out.
It has an 11 mm driver that has high magnetic density and superior stability. The driver provides impressive noise reduction.
Huawei Freebuds has a Hybrid Noise Cancellation that combines a three-mic system and the bone voice sensor; the combination reduces background noises and enhances the human voice for clear calls.
During the video recording, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro covers the frequency range of up to 20Hz with a stable transmission.
Battery
Huawei FreeBuds Pro packs a 55 mAh battery in each earbud, while the charging case has a battery of 580 mAh. Likewise, the battery provides music playback of 5 hours with ANC enabled; whereas, it has 8 hours of music playback with ANC disabled. Both of these playtimes are used with EMUI 11. Similarly, when used without EMUI 11, the music playtime is 4 hours and 7 hours with ANC enabled and ANC disabled.
The battery charges via USB Type-C of 5 V or 1.2 A or 6W. It also supports 2W wireless charging. Following this, the battery takes 40 minutes to charge for the earbuds in the charging case. On the other hand, the charging case alone takes about 1 hour to get a full charge. And finally, the charging case takes about 2 hours to charge via wireless charging without earbuds.
