12th May 2021 was the day when Asus launched a new smartphone in its Zenfone series. The company recently launched a gaming phone – Asus ROG Phone 5. The newly launched smartphone is Asus Zenfone 8, which sits in its flagship lineup. The anticipated price of the Asus Zenfone 8 in Nepal is NPR 90,000 for the 6/128 GB model, NPR 105,000 for the 8/128 GB model, NPR 120,000 for the 8/256 GB model, and NPR 130,000 for the 16/256 GB model.
Asus Zenfone 8 Overview
Asus Zenfone 8 has no fancy design; however, the performance it gives is a flagship. It features some of the best hardware and software.
Design and Build Quality
Asus Zenfone 8 has a portable design with a 5.9-inches Super AMOLED display. It supports HDR10+. Likewise, the display has a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The 3D-curved back is comfortable to hold. It has an anti-glare frosted-glass finish on the rear; the smartphone has a sleek and stylish design.
Asus Zenfone 8 has an always-on display and is certified with IP68 water and dust resistance.
For easy to use and easy to carry, the smartphone weighs just 169 grams. It has three color options: Obsidian Black, Horizon Silver, and Moonlight White
Performance
Advanced 5 nm Snapdragon 888 powers the smartphone. Asus Zenfone 8 is the most powerful Zenfone with the fastest 5G speed. It further combines with Adreno 660 for graphical processing. According to the company’s claim, it has up to 25% faster performance and 35% faster graphics rendering.
The smartphone has various options for storage, where the RAM option is available up to 16 GB and storage option of up to 256 GB is available. The RAM type is LPDDR5, while the ROM type is UFS 3.1
Asus Zenfone 8 boots on Android 11 based on ZenUI 8. It has modes like Stock Android, One-handed Mode, System Mode, Smart Key, and Dark Mode.
Camera
Asus Zenfone 8 has a dual-camera system on the rear. It has a 64 MP wide-angle camera; it is a Sony IMX686 sensor with an aperture of f/1.8. Similarly, the smartphone has a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, which is a Sony IMX363 sensor.
The rear camera can record the video up to 8K@24fps.
It features the Sony IMX663 sensor for the 12 MP front camera. It has an advanced fast autofocusing ability.
The selfie camera can capture the videos in 4K at 30fps and 1080p at 30/60fps.
Battery
The smartphone packs a 4,000 mAh battery. It supports a 30W hypercharge adapter. As per the advertisement, it can fill up to 60% of the charge in 25 minutes.
For power optimization, it has an automatic power mode for optimized performance and to maximize battery life. Similarly, an advanced mode lets you customize the smartphone’s power usage according to your needs.

Asus Zenfone 8 Expected Price in Nepal and Availability
Asus Zenfone 8 is available for purchase in Europe at the starting price of EUR 599 and goes up to EUR 799 for 16/256 GB variant. There is doubt on the official launch of the smartphone in Nepal.
However, if the phone is available for purchase through an unofficial channel, we expect the price of Asus ZenFone 8 in Nepal to be around NPR 90,000 for 6/128 GB, NPR 105,000 for 8/128 GB, NPR 120,000 for 8/256 GB, and NPR 130,000 for the 16/256 GB.
