Tecno is a rather new name in the Nepali smartphone market. Tecno Mobile is the premium brand of Transsion Holdings, which ranks among the top three mobile phone brands in Africa. Now, it has re-entered the Asian tech market. Tecno has launched Camon 15 Pro in the mid-range segment in Nepal.

Tecno Camon 15 Pro Overview

Tecno Camon 15 Pro is the pro version in the Tecno Camon series of smartphones that comes in a glamorous design, a 48MP ultra quad camera, a 32MP pop-up selfie, and a big screen. Looking at the camera specifications, you can tell Camon 15 Pro is a camera phone by Tecno.

Design and Display

Tecno Camon 15 Pro has a plastic body and plastic frame with a glossy finish at the back. The rear panel composes a glamorous color design and exquisite textural lines giving the phone a stylish look. Also, there is a quad-camera packed inside a vertical camera module and a fingerprint sensor on the back. 

The Camon 15 Pro comes with a 6.6-inch Perfect Fullview display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. There is no punch-hole or a notch housing a selfie camera at the front; instead, the phone adopts a POP-UP selfie camera. Due to this, the IPS LCD panel retains a screen-to-body ratio of 91.2% and an immersive 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Performance and Internals 

Under the hood, the smartphone integrates MediaTek Helio P35 SoC complemented with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It is a 12nm process-based octa-core CPU with a clock speed of up to 2.3GHz. The chipset is paired with 6GB RAM that enables faster and smoother multitasking and gaming performance. Also, you get 128GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot.

On the software front, the device runs on HiOS 6.0 based on the Android 10 operating system. It includes features like Social Turbo, Dark Theme mode, and Face Unlock 2.0.

Camera

The main highlighting feature is its camera. Tecno Camon 15 Pro features a quad-camera setup aligned vertically at the back. It comprises a 48MP primary lens with a 1/2” sensor that captures more light at night. Accompanying the primary camera is the Ultra Night lens with TAIVOS (TECNO artificial intelligence vision optimization solution), a 5MP secondary camera that captures 115-degree super wide-angle photos with an anti-distortion feature and 2cm extreme close-up shots, and a 2MP lens for AI Bokeh Effect.

Some functions included within the camera are Short Video Recording with nine filter styles, wide-angle video recording, AI beauty optimization, quick playback, and 15s or 60s versions setting. Besides, there is Background Bokeh Effect, AI Body Shaping, Super HDR mode, and AI Scene Detection.

For the front-facing camera, Tecno has adopted a 32MP motorized POP-UP selfie camera with a dual-LED flash. The POP-UP camera has a smart anti-fall reaction and a strong resistance to magnetic interference. You get some of the built-in features like Beautification 3.0, Portrait Bokeh Effect 2.0, and Fun Social Interaction with AR Stickers and AR Emoji.

Battery

Tecno Camon 15 Pro is powered by a 4000 mAh powerful battery that gives decent battery life, but there is no mention of fast charging technology support.
