Oppo A5s is a budget-oriented smartphone that comes as the successor for the successful Oppo A3s. The phone was launched by Oppo back in April 2019 in Nepal.
Oppo has now dropped the price for both the 2 GB RAM and 3 GB RAM variant of the A5s in the Nepali market. The new price of A5s in Nepal for the 2 GB RAM variant is Rs. 16,790, and for the 3 GB variant is Rs. 18,590.
OPPO A5s Overview
Design and Display
The A5s device has a polycarbonate body, measuring 8.2 mm in thickness and weighing 170 grams. The volume rocker buttons and a dual sim tray are on the phone’s left side frame. Similarly, the power buttons are on the right frame, a secondary mic on the top frame and a micro USB charging port, a primary microphone, a speaker grille, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack are present on the device’s bottom frame.
The device offers a 6.2 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels in the aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen features a waterdrop screen with noticeable bezels, especially at the chin, making the screen to body ratio of 81.6%. The display of the device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the top.
The device features a rear-mounted physical fingerprint scanner and is available in Red and Black color option.
Performance and Memory
Internally, the A5s is powered by the Mediatek Helio P35 processor with octa-core and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The device is available in the configuration of 2 GB with 32 GB internal storage and 3GB with 32 GB of internal storage in Nepal. The internal storage of the device can be further extended using the dedicated microSD card slot when needed. The device runs on ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8 out of the box.
Camera
The A5s device offers a rear dual camera setup consisting of a 13 MP primary lens of f/2.2 aperture and a 2 MP depth sensor of f/2.4 aperture. Similarly, the single selfie camera on the front is an 8 MP sensor of f/2.0 aperture.
Both of the camera setups can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps. The rear camera can take photos with a bokeh effect, and the selfie camera features AI Beautification.
Battery
The Oppo A5s is backed up by a 4230 mAh non-removable battery with a micro USB 2.0 charging port. However, the device does not support fast charging technology.
