OPPO A3s is a budget-oriented smartphone of the company launched in Nepal in mid-September of 2018, with an initial launch price of Rs. 19,490 for the 2/16 GB variant and Rs. 24,590 for the 3/32 GB variant. Considering the specification the device offers at that price, it was overpriced. However, Oppo immediately dropped the price of the A3s in November 2018.
The new price of Oppo A3s for the 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage variant is Rs. 15,990, and for the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage is Rs. 24,590 in Nepal.
OPPO A3s Overview
Design and Display
The device offers a 6.2 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels in an aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen features a notch to house the selfie camera. With the notch and thin bezels around the screen, the device’s screen to body ratio is 81.2%. The display of the device is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 on top.
The body of the device measures 8.2 mm in thickness, weighs 168 grams, and is made from plastic. It is available in Red and Dark Purple color options.
Performance and Memory
The A3s is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset with Adreno 506 GPU. The device is available in Nepal in the memory configuration options of 2 GB Ram with 16 GB internal storage and 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage.
The internal storage of the A3s can be extended up to 256 GB with the dedicated microSD card slot. The device runs on ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 out of the box.
Camera
The A3s offers a dual-camera setup on the rear, consisting of a 13 MP primary lens of f/2.2 aperture and a 2 MP depth sensor of f/2.4 aperture. The selfie camera upfront is an 8 MP lens with an f/2.2 aperture.
The selfie camera features AI Beauty 2 technology that beautifies the selfie in real-time. Both of the cameras can record up to 1080p videos at 30 fps.
Battery
The device is backed up by a 4230 mAh non-removable battery. Oppo claims that the device has a battery life of up to 18 hours.
One of the new and unique features in A3s is the “Music Party” feature that allows multiple devices on ColorOS to be connected via hotspot and play the same track on all the devices.
