Oppo A31 is one of the company’s latest smartphones in the mid-range A-series lineup. It was announced and released internationally in February 2020. However, due to the lockdown in Nepal, the Oppo A31 was launched alongside Oppo A52 in Nepal in June 2020. Design and Display
The design of the Oppo A31 is similar to any other phones in the mid-range segment from Oppo. The side panel and the back panel of the device are made from plastic with a glossy finish. The rear panel consists of a vertically stacked triple camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Oppo A31 features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels in a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen to body ratio of the phone is 89%. The display features a waterdrop notch to house the front-facing camera. The phone’s display has a maximum brightness of up to 480 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
The dimension of the phone body is 163.9 mm x 75.5 x 8.3 mm and weighs 180 grams. The device is available in two colors: Mystery Black and Fantasy White.
Performance and Memory
Mediatek Helio P35 processor powers the Oppo A31. The Helio P35 processor is a 12 nm chipset with octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The Helio p35 processor is an old processor, and so it is nowhere near the best in the current market.
The Oppo A13 is available in 4GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage configuration. The device’s internal storage capacity can be extended up to 256 GB using the dedicated microSD card slot. The device runs on ColorOS 6.1.2 based on Android 9 out of the box.
Camera
The Oppo A31 features a rear triple camera setup, consisting of a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The cameras and an LED flash are arranged vertically inside the camera module on the upper left portion of the rear panel.
The selfie camera of Oppo A31 is an 8 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture housed in the waterdrop notch. Both of these camera setups can record 1080p videos at 30 fps and feature shooting modes like Photo, video, professional mode, panorama, portrait, time-lapse photography, etc.
Battery
The Oppo A31 is backed up by a 4230mAh battery. According to Oppo, the device can last up to 14 hours of video streaming, up to 7 hours of online gaming, and up to 111 hours of audio playback. However, there is no support for fast charging.

The Oppo A31 is overpriced compared to the specs it offers. The Samsung Galaxy M21 provides a better camera, a better AMOLED display, a larger battery with fast charging, a better processor, and a better RAM while being cheaper than the Oppo A31.
