OPPO A15s with Bigger Screen and Bigger Storage, Launched in Nepal

Launched on 18th December 2020, Oppo A15s is the improved version of OPPO A15. The smartphone is now available in Nepal, as per the post made by OPPO through Facebook. OPPO A15s Overview

Coming from its predecessor, Oppo A15s have more storage and a better camera. It has a good design, and AI added in many of the features. However, Oppo lacks competitive performance in terms of internal specifications. You can get the phone for daily use and an excellent camera.

Design and Build Quality

The screen size of Oppo A15s is 6.52 inches, IPS LCD. It has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels with an aspect ratio of 20:9. Following this, it has a 3D back cover, and you can choose from two color variants: Fancy White and Dynamic Black. The phone weighs 177 grams.

At the back, the triple camera with LED flash is inside a square module, on the top-left corner, while the selfie camera lies in a dew-drop notch at the top-center. Talking about the buttons and ports, it has a headphone jack, micro USB, and speaker grille. On the right side, it has the power button and the volume rockers, whereas the SIM card tray is on the left; it has a triple slot for two SIM cards and a microSD card. The top edge is neat and clean.

It has AI brightness to adjust the brightness of the screen automatically. Next, it has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and an AI Face unlock. Hence, you can unlock the phone with a touch or a glance. Advanced facial recognition identifies the face based on 128 facial features, giving instant access.

Performance

The phone’s processor power comes from Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 SoC, while PowerVR GE8320 handles the graphics. Oppo A15s has Hyper Boost 2.1 to improve the gaming and touch responsiveness. Similarly, the smartphone packs 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, while the storage is expandable up to 256GB.

The phone boots on Android 10 based on ColorOS 7.2, featuring Dark mode, Smart sidebar, and Soloop. Oppo claims to have undergone 28,000 drop tests from 10cm, including other significant tests.

Camera

The smartphone has an AI triple rear camera. The primary camera of 13MP provides clarity in the picture, while the 2MP macro camera preserves the details. For capturing the perfect portrait, a 2MP depth lens is present.

Features in the camera include portrait bokeh, HDR, AI scene enhancement, etc.

The selfie camera is 8MP with AI beautification. The AI beautification is developed by Oppo, which after identifying age, gender and region, provides perfect skin tone and complexion to each face.

Videos of 1080p at 30fps are recordable from both cameras.

Battery

A 4230 mAh battery fuels the phone; it supports 10W of charging. It gives video streaming of up to 16 hours and gaming for up to 6 hours without stopping for a charge. However, the charging port is still MicroUSB instead of Type-C.

It also has a super nighttime standby, i.e., it learns your sleeping habit and reduces nighttime power consumption.
