With the establishment of HMD Global, the almost extinct Nokia has managed to establish itself as a reliable brand for entry-level and budget-oriented devices. The official distributor of Nokia devices in Nepal, Paramount Electronics has launched its two budget-friendly devices Nokia 2.2 and Nokia 3.2, in Nepal.
The official price of Nokia 2.2 in Nepal is Rs. 11,490 for the 2 GB RAM with 16 GB storage variant, and Rs. 13,490 for the 3 GB RAM with 16 GB storage variant.
Nokia 2.2 Overview
Nokia 2.2 comes under Nokia 2 series and is a successor device to the Nokia 2.1 with various upgrades on the design as well as other hardware. It has a modern look and offers features like Android One, Waterdrop display, and so on.
Design and Display
The body of the device is made from plastic with a glossy finish on the back panel. It measures 9.3 mm (0.37 inch) in thickness and weighs 153 grams. The device is available in the color options of Steel and Tungsten Black.
Upfront, the device offers a 5.71 inches IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels in an aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen is surrounded by thick bezels with the company logo engraved in the bottom chin and features a waterdrop notch to house the selfie camera of the device.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, Nokia 2.2 is powered by a Mediatek Helio A22 processor with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU and is available in two memory configuration variants: 2 GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage and 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage. There is an option to extend the device’s internal storage up to 400 GB using the MicroSD card. As for the software aspect, it runs on Android 9.0 Pie (Android One) out of the box, which is upgradeable to Android Q.
Camera
It features a single camera setup on both front and rear panels. The rear camera setup consists of a 13 MP lens of f/2.2 aperture housed inside the pill-shaped camera module with an LED flash. Upfront, the selfie camera is a 5 MP sensor housed inside the waterdrop notch.
Both of these cameras can take up to 1080p videos at 30 fps and features HDR, Panorama, Low Light enhancement, Time Lapse, Beautification, Google Lens modes.
Battery and Other Features
Nokia 2.2 is backed up by a 3000 mAh battery with 5W charging over the MicroUSB 2.0. Note that the battery is removable. For biometrics, the device does not have a fingerprint sensor but offers face unlock. The device has a dedicated Googe Assistant button and offers Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, Micro USB, 3.5mm headphone jack.
