LG Tone Free DFP8W Overview
The TWS earbuds have ANC (Active noise cancellation) with up to 24 hours of playback. They also have a unique design, ANC, and IP rating.
Design and Build Quality
LG claims the earbuds have hypoallergenic and non-toxic silicone. They have comfortable medical-grade attachments. Tone Free in LG Tone Free DFP8W means you can put the earbuds in the charging case, and the UVnano technology kills 99.9% bacteria in 5 minutes.
The earbuds have Ambient mode and Chat mode. They are IPX4 certified for splash resistance. The earbuds have three color varieties: White, Gold, and Black. The LG Tone Free DFP8W earbuds come in three sizes: large, medium, and small
The earbuds have touch controls. You can switch on/off between sound modes and turn off the noise-canceling by pressing on the earbuds.
Features
It has an UVnano charging case to clean the silicone tips and speaker mesh. The earbuds feature an 8mm dynamic driver. The driver is developed by Meridian Audio and has three microphones; two of three microphones are dedicated for calls, and the remaining one is for ANC.
The ANC function blocks the outside noise by generating identical counter noise in the same amount.
The earbuds pair over Bluetooth 5.2; they support multi-pairing with up to five devices. It also supports Microsoft Windows Swift Pair protocols and Google Fast Pairing.
The new earbuds are compatible with multiple codecs such as apt-X, AAC (Advanced Audio Coding), and SBC (Sub-band Coding) audio codecs, just like Oppo Enco Free 2.
LG Tone Free DFP8W uses spatial up mixing that improves the sound and produces more vivid sound.
Battery
The LG Tone Free DFP8W earbuds have a 68 mAh battery, whereas the charging case alone has a 390 mAh battery. The earbuds have a battery that keeps them alive for up to 6 hours with ANC, while the battery life is 10 hours without ANC. On the other hand, the charging case extends the battery life for up to 14 hours with ANC and 24 hours without ANC.
The battery on the earbuds takes less than an hour to get a full charge. Likewise, the charging case takes less than two hours to fill the charge fully. It also supports fast charging technology and gives 1 hour of battery life in 5 minutes of charge. And finally, the charging case supports wireless charging as well.
