The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is official alongside the Samsung Z Flip3 and Galaxy Watch4 2 on 11th August 2021. Coming from its successor, the smartphone advances in almost all aspects. It is selling at $1799.99 for the 256 GB model and $1899.99 for the 512 GB variant in the US.
At the same time, the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 in Nepal is expected to be around NPR 230,000 for the 256 GB model and NPR 245,000 for the 512 GB model. Let us get through the details of the smartphone through this article.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Overview
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the top-tier foldable phone of Samsung’s next generation. Galaxy Z Fold 3 is Samsung’s next tablet-sized flagship foldable that folds shut to the size of a regular phone. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 looks similar to its predecessor Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, with a subtle triple camera module on the rear side. The design is more focused on its durability. It also supports the S Pen in taking notes.
Design and Build Quality
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a 6.2 inches external display and 7.55 inches main internal large display. It has a Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X internal display, and a Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display, with both having a refresh rate of 120Hz.
The resolution of the smartphone is 2208 by 1768 with slightly trimmed down bezels. Similarly, the cover display has a resolution of 832 x 2268 pixels with a 25:9 ratio. The folded display has a glass front with Gorilla Glass Victus, while the unfolded display has a plastic front. Further, the smartphone has IPX8 water resistance; it can resist water for up to 30 minutes in 1.5 meters depth.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a capacitive side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a volume rocker on the right side. On the rear panel, there appears to be a matte surface.
As it is a larger screen device thus, it uses an S Pen, but there is no slot for an S Pen in the body of a phone like the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. It is the first folding phone to support the S Pen.
The smartphone is available in three color options of Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver. It weighs 271 grams.
Performance
Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset with a generous amount of RAM, i.e., 12 GB. The chipset is built with a 5 nm fabrication process. It is a 5G processor. It is an octa-core chipset with 1x Kryo 680 with a clocking speed of 2.84 GHz, 3x Kryo 680 with 2.42 GHz clocking speed, and 4x Kryo 680 with the clocking speed of 1.80 GHz.
Likewise, the internal storage of the smartphone is either 256 GB or 512 GB. The Samsung Z Fold 3 runs One UI 3.5 based on Android 11.

Camera
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 features a triple camera on the rear panel, which appears as a conventional setup-no periscope, with no IR sensors with LED flash, HDR, and panorama features.
It has a primary camera, a telephoto camera, and an ultra-wide camera. All the cameras on the rear panel have 12 MP sensors. Likewise, the telephoto camera has 2x optical zoom.
The video resolution option for the rear camera of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is 4K at 60fps, 1080p at 60/240fps, and 720p at 960fps.
