Finally, the curtain has fallen off for the Redmi Note 10 Series as Xiaomi launched them on 4th March 2021 in India. The series comprises three variants: Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. Few hours after the launch in India, it went global with Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10, and Redmi Note 10S.
Here, we will be taking a dig into the Indian variant of the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Redmi Note 10 Pro is priced at NPR 29,999 for the base variant in Nepal, while the price is NPR 33,999 for the 6/64 GB variant. Other Xiaomi smartphones under the Redmi brand are also affordable with similar price range.
Redmi Note 10 Pro Overview
Few changes are made for the global versions i.e., while the Redmi Note 10 Pro in India has a 64MP primary camera, the global Redmi Note 10 Pro features a 108 MP primary camera. So, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is identical to the global variant of the Redmi Note 10 Pro. With the new release, Xiaomi is pushing the boundaries of what a mid-range smartphone can offer.
Design and Build Quality
The display has a 6.67 inches AMOLED screen of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It has an incredible refresh rate of 120Hz refresh rate with 1200 nits of peak brightness. The screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. With a center punch-hole selfie camera, Xiaomi claims it to be the smallest notch ever. It has a glass body and weighs just 193 grams.
3D curved back made from the glass gives an elegant look to the smartphone. With IP53 rated protection, it is dust and splash-proof. The quad-camera setup in the rear has a new design. It has dual Nano-SIM and microSD support through a dedicated microSD slot on the left.
The volume rocker and the power key are on the right side. On the bottom, it has a speaker, USB Type-C port, and a primary microphone. The top has a headphone jack, stereo speakers, secondary mic, and IR blaster.
A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is embedded on the power key, making us think about why not in-display fingerprint sensor even after having an AMOLED screen. The smartphone is available in three colors: Onyx Gray, Glacier Blue, and Gradient Bronze
Performance
The processing power of the smartphone comes from Snapdragon 732G processor with Adreno 618 GPU. It is the same chipset present in POCO X3 NFC. Following this, the RAM and storage options are 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage. The storage is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card.
Redmi Note 10 Pro runs Android 11 on top of MIUI 12. And yes, MIUI 12.5 is coming soon.
Camera
A quad-camera on the rear features a 64 MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, 8 MP ultra-wide camera, 5 MP macro camera, and 2 MP depth camera. As mentioned above, the global version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro features 108 MP, while the Indian variant has a 64 MP primary camera.
Videos of up to 4K @30fps, are recordable from the rear cameras, whereas the other option being 1080p@30fps.
The front camera for the selfie is 16 MP on an f/2.45 lens. It can record 1080p@30fps footage.
Battery
Fueling the phone is a 5020 mAh battery with a 33W fast charger. It includes an adapter as well in the box.
The battery charges up to 57% in just 30 minutes and 100% in 74 minutes. A full charge can keep you up for a whole day. However, the battery does not support reverse charging.
