Oppo has officially launched the latest version of its budget smartphone Oppo A15 in Nepal. It is the successor to the Oppo A12, which was launched back in July 2020.
The company officially announced the availability of the device in the Nepali market through its official Facebook page on January 18. The official price of Oppo A15 in Nepal is Rs. 18,590 for the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant.

Design and Display
The Oppo A15 has a sleek and stylish design. The device weighs 175 grams in the dimension 164 x 75.4 x 7.9 mm.
The back and the side panel of the phone are made from plastic with rounded corners. The back panel contains a physical fingerprint sensor and a square camera module that houses the rear camera setup.
Upfront, the phone features a 6.52 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels in a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Oppo A15 has a waterdrop notch to house the single front-facing camera. The phone has a minimal pixel on the sides with a screen-to-body ratio of 88.7% and 269 PPI density.
The phone’s display has a maximum brightness of up to 480 nits. According to Oppo, the device features AI Brightness, which automatically adjusts the brightness level based on the user preference and usage pattern.
The phone is available in two colors: Dynamic Black and Mystic Blue.
Performance and Memory
The MediaTek Helio P35 processor powers the Oppo A15. The Helio P35 processor is a 12nm chipset with an octa-core (4×2.35 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
The Oppo A15 phone comes in a single memory configuration of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The internal storage capacity of the device can be extended up to 256 GB using a microSD card slot. The device runs on ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10 out of the box.
Camera
The Oppo A15 features a rear triple camera setup, consisting of a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The cameras and the LED flash are arranged inside the square camera module in a symmetrical order.
The selfie camera in Oppo A15 is a 5MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture housed in the waterdrop notch. Both of these camera setups can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
The rear camera features shooting modes like the photo, video, professional mode, night mode, panorama mode, portrait, time-lapse photography, slow motion, etc. The front camera features AI Beauty mode.
Battery
The phone is backed up by a 4230 mAh battery with 10W charging. According to Oppo, the phone can last up to 16 hours of online HD video streaming and 6 hours of playing.
The company also added a Super Nighttime Standby feature, which allows the device to learn the user’s sleep habits and reduce nighttime power consumption.
Along with the fingerprint biometric option, the Oppo A15 is also equipped with an AI face unlock option, which identifies the user based on 128 facial features.

The phone is a bit overpriced compared to the features it offers. It competes against Redmi 9 and POCO M3 in this price range. Both of these phones have better FHD+ screen resolution, a larger battery with support for fast charging, larger RAM, and a Wide Angle Lens, all of which are missing in the Oppo A15.
