Oppo A12 is one of the budget-oriented smartphones of the company. With fierce competition on the budget smartphone market in Nepal with POCO C3 and newly announced Samsung M02s, Oppo has lowered the price of the A12 smartphone.
The A12 is now available at Rs.17,590 for the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant and Rs. 20,790 for the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant.

Design and Display
The back panel design in A12 is a unique aspect of the phone. Thanks to the 3D Diamond Blaze Design, the phone looks unique and interesting, although made from plastic. The design also offers different pattern variations and color-changing shades with the change in viewing angles and features a pill-shaped camera module to house the rear camera setup.
Upfront, the device features a 6.22 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels in an aspect ratio of 19:9. The Oppo A15 has a waterdrop notch to house the single front-facing camera. The phone body has a screen-to-body ratio of 89% and ~270 PPI density. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top.
The phone weighs 165 grams with a dimension of 155.9 x 75.5 x 8.3 mm and is available in two colors: Black and Blue.
Performance and Memory
The A12 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 processor and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The Helio P35 processor is a 12nm process based chipset with an octa-core (4×2.35 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU.
The phone comes in the configuration of 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage option, which can be further extended up to 256 GB using a microSD card. The phone runs on ColorOS 6.1.2 based on Android 9 out of the box.
Camera
The Oppo A12 phone offers a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 13 MP primary lens of f/2.2 aperture and a 2 MP depth sensor of f/2.4 aperture for bokeh effect. The cameras are housed inside the pill-shaped camera module on the back panel. The selfie camera is a 5 MP sensor of f/2.0 aperture, housed inside the waterdrop notch.
The primary camera supports burst mode, 6x digital zoom and can record 1080p videos at 30 fps. The front camera features AI Beautification mode to optimize the selfie.
Battery
A 4230 mAh battery backs up the Oppo A12. According to Oppo, the device can last up to 17 hours of online HD video streaming and 8 hours of playing games. However, the A12 does not support fast charging.

Oppo A12 was officially launched in Nepal in July 2020 for Rs. 18,590 for the 3GB RAM and 32 Gb storage variant. Oppo has lowered the price by Rs. 1000, so the new price of the device is Rs 17,590. However, the 4/64 GB variant has not seen any price cuts and is still officially priced at Rs.20,790.
