    iPhone 12 Overview

The new iPhone 12 comes with an improvement in speed, OLED screen, and 5G support. It is one of the lightest iPhones. Similarly, the iPhone 12’s design is quite similar to the iconic design of the iPhone Series 4 and 5. As there is always a controversial part in each release, iPhone 12 has no chargers and EarPods in the box. But as per the company’s explanation, excluding the adapter reduces the box’s size to ship more devices. It also reduces carbon emissions.

    Design and Build Quality

Apple has brought back the flat frame and comfortable grip in iPhone 12. The display of the iPhone 12 is the toughest glass panel: Ceramic Shield by Corning. It has an aluminum frame with a matte finish on the back.

The display panel has 1,170 x 2,532 pixels. OLED screen supports HDR10 and Dolby vision with a refresh rate of 60Hz. It seems like we have to bide our time until the next generation to have a 120Hz refresh rate. Similarly, the screen gives 600 nits of brightness and offers high color accuracy.

The iPhone 12 has a 6.1 inches OLED screen with very thin bezels and eyesore notch housing the front camera and 3D camera. You get a dual-camera setup inside a matte square glass on the back. The back panel catches smudges, but the oleophobic coating goes with a quick wipe.

Similarly, the top of the frame has nothing, while the bottom has the mouthpiece, lightning port, and another stereo speaker. There is a silencer, a volume switch, and the nano-SIM slot on the left side. And, on the right, you will get the power key.

Similarly, IP68 is rated for dust and water resistance making the phone survive up to 6-meter deep water for 30 minutes. The iPhone 12 is available in five color variants: Black, Green, Red, Blue, and White. It weighs 164 grams. It is effortless to carry and gives a comfortable grip.

The new A14 Bionic powers the iPhone 12. It has a six-core processor and is the first 5nm chipset. Also, the 4-core Apple GPU gives better performance than last year’s A13. iPhone 12 has the new 16-core NPU for machine learning to expect a better AI performance. It enjoys 4GB RAM.

The primary camera picture is excellent with very low noise, accurate white balance, and colors. On the other hand, the dynamic range picture is above average. Similarly, portraits are very sharp, with vivid colors, rich details, and natural-looking blur.

The Night-mode is automatically triggered when the light is low. The best thing about the night-mode is, it doesn’t aim to turn the night into day but gives a more night-like vibe in the picture.

The front is a 12MP selfie camera with 1.0µm pixels and f/2.2 aperture.

The selfie is excellent, with great details and contrast. Also, the portrait mode produces a detailed picture.
