Huawei has added a new smartphone in its 8 series. The series already consists of Huawei nova 8 5G, Huawei nova 8 Pro 4G, Huawei nova 8 Pro 5G, and Huawei nova 8 SE. Huawei launched Huawei nova 8i on 7th July 2021. The official price of Huawei nova 8i in Malaysia is MYR 1,299 (around NPR 37,197). Huawei nova 8i Overview
Huawei nova 8i has an AI quad-camera and an edgeless display. Large storage and a Huawei supercharge is the main attraction of the smartphone.
Design and Build Quality
Huawei nova 8i flaunts a 6.67-inches FullHD+ LCD screen. The smartphone has an Edgeless Display with 1.3mm bezels on the side and a 1.35mm bezel on the top. Similarly, the screen has a pill-shaped notch housing the selfie on the top-left corner.
It has a superior grip with a great visual experience. A magnificent color display is due to the refined NCVM craftsmanship.
The smartphone’s rear panel has a quad camera inside a circular module. As per Huawei, the back cover has a 4D curvature; it delivers precision-engineered rounded edges for an ultra-smooth touch.
It weighs 190 grams and is available in three color options: Moonlight Silver, Interstellar Blue, and Starry Black.
Huawei nova 8i has a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometric authentication.
Performance
Under the hood, the smartphone packs a Snapdragon 662 SoC. The chipset further pairs with 6GB/8GB of RAM and a storage of 128 GB. Adreno 610 handles the graphics of the phone.
A 180Hz of touch sampling rate gives an ultra-smooth gaming experience. Further, the smartphone also has a Do Not Disturb mode to ensure your game is uninterrupted even in the presence of incoming calls or messages.
On the software front, the smartphone has Android 10 with EMUI 11 on the top. Furthermore, the official app store for Huawei – Huawei App Gallery is present.
Camera
Huawei nova 8i has a quad-camera consisting of a primary sensor, an ultra-wide camera, a macro camera, and a depth camera. The main camera has a high resolution of 64 MP with a lens of f/1.9. At the same time, the ultra-wide sensor is an 8 MP with an aperture of f/2.4. It has a 120-degree field of view. And the other two macro and depth cameras have a 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 lens.
On the other hand, Huawei nova 8i has a 16 MP Selfie camera on the front. The selfie camera features an AI beauty algorithm, providing a dedicated solution for each face and preserving every detail.
Battery
A 4,300 mAh battery fuels the Huawei nova 8i. And as per the advertisement, it takes 17 minutes for the battery to get a 60% charge.
Likewise, the battery takes 38 minutes to get a full charge. Huawei ships the smartphone with 66W Huawei SuperCharge.
