ZTE, on 27th July 2021, launched a new 5G smartphone as ZTE Axon 30 5G in China. It is the successor to the ZTE Axon 20 5G. ZTE is also planning to make a comeback in the Nepalese smartphone market by launching smartphones like ZTE Axon 30 Ultra, ZTE Blade A51, and ZTE Blade A71. And we are hopeful about the launch of ZTE Axon 30 5G in Nepal as well.

ZTE Axon 30 5G has a starting price of CNY 2,198 in China, which is around NPR 40,383. The possible price of ZTE Axon 30 5G in Nepal is NPR 45,000 for the base variant of the 6/128 GB variant, NPR 50,000 for the 8/128 GB variant, NPR 56,000 for the 8/256 GB variant, and NPR 62,000 for the higher model of 12/256 GB.

ZTE Axon 30 5G Overview

ZTE Axon 30 5G has improved features from its previous generation. It has an under-display front camera, which is very rare in the smartphones. 

Design and Build Quality

ZTE Axon 30 5G sports a 6.92 inches OLED display. It offers a screen-to-body ratio of 85.9% and is always on display. Likewise, the resolution of the smartphone is 1080 x 2460 pixels. It produces 16 million colors. The display packs a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

An exciting feature of the smartphone is its under-display front camera. The display above the camera has higher transparency cathodes. The smartphone has also doubled the PPI count above the front camera module to 400 PPI, 200 PPI in the previous generation.

The camera on the rear features an iconic LABEL design. The rear shell is made of 3D composite polymer material; it has a nano-level glow texture.

ZTE Axon 30 5G flaunts a 7-layer structure, including a new UDC Pro screen display chip, higher transmittance materials, and an ACE circuit arrangement. According to ZTE, this structure gets enough light for the camera sensor to produce improved image clarity. Furthermore, it has three special processing technologies. The smartphone is also TUV, SGS, and UL certified for eye protection.

ZTE Axon 30 5G also has an under-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. It works fast and accurately. The smartphone weighs 189 grams and is available in two colors: Black and Aqua

Performance

ZTE Axon 30 5G gets its processing power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G; the processor is built on a 7 nm manufacturing process. Similarly, it is an octa-core processor with 1x Kryo 585 clocking at 3.2 GHz, 3x Kryo 585 with a clocking speed of up to 2.42 GHz, and  4x Kryo 585 having a clocking speed of 1.80 GHz. It has an Adreno 650 for graphics handling. A plethora of storage combinations are available in the ZTE Axon 30 5G. The memory options are 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, 8/256 GB, and 12/256 GB.

The smartphone adopts self-developed memory fusion technology; it uses the free storage space to expand the running memory by up to 5 GB.

ZTE Axon 30 5G boots on Android 11 on top of MyOS 11 out of the box.

Camera

ZTE Axon 30 5G has an AI quad-camera setup with a primary camera, ultra-wide camera, macro lens, and depth camera. The main camera of the smartphone features a 64 MP Sony IMX682 sensor with an f/1.8 lens. Likewise, the ultra-wide camera has an 8 MP sensor with an f/2.2 lens; it has a 120-degree field of view. The macro camera of the smartphone is a 5 MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. And finally, the depth sensor is 2 MP with the lens of f/2.4.

The video resolution supported by the rear camera is 4K at 30/60 fps and 1080p at 30fps. It also supports dual-way video stabilization for the primary camera. Likewise, the camera has dynamic, artistic, and multiple cool filming templates to help users film in various styles.

ZTE Axon 30 5G flaunts a 16 MP selfie camera. The camera is interestingly placed under the display. Likewise, it has a lens with an aperture of f/2.0. The under-display selfie camera can record the video in 1080p at 30fps.

Battery

A Li-Po 4200 mAh, non-removable battery fuels the ZTE Axon 30 5G. It supports 55W fast charging. Similarly, the triple ice cooling system, consisting of a large VC liquid cooling plate, graphene copper-based composite material, and high power thermal gel, guarantees continuous high performance.
