POCO M2 Launched in Nepal with Helio G80, 6 GB RAM, and FHD+ Display

After teasing for some time, POCO officially launched its two budget phones in Nepal – POCO M2 and POCO C3. With this, POCO finally re-entered the Nepali market after its launch of POCO F1 back in 2018. POCO M2 is the premium one among the two devices offering superior specifications with a slight hike in price.

POCO M2 Overview

POCO M2 is one of the best smartphones priced under Rs. 20,000 in Nepal. POCO M2 is the rebranded version of Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime as it offers almost the same specs and features but comes with an additional 2GB of RAM.

Design and Display

POCO has adopted a dual-textured finish on the back of the POCO M2. The body and frame are plastic built with a textured finish that does not attract fingerprint marks. Also, the rear panel highlights a quad-camera array setup placed inside the pill-shaped camera module. The body is protected by P2i’s nano-coating against accidental water splashes.

On the front, POCO M2 equips a 6.53-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD screen with a waterdrop notch that houses a selfie camera. Mali G52 MC2 GPU handles the graphics. With 6 GB RAM to complement the aforementioned hardware, POCO M2 provides smooth and seamless performance. POCO M2 features a quad-camera array setup at the back aligned vertically. The arrangement comprises a 13MP primary sensor accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with a 118-degree field of view, a 5MP macro sensor for close-up shots, and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. Upfront, the device boasts an 8MP AI Selfie camera confined inside the waterdrop notch.

The phone captures 1080p@30fps video from both front and rear cameras. Though, lack of stabilization can disappoint you for the videos. The camera’s UI is comfortable and has the features to switch between HDR, AI, Pro mode, and Portrait mode.
