Oppo launched a new budget smartphone – Oppo A16 on 17th July 2021. It is the latest member in the A series of the phone. Oppo has already launched some popular A series phones as Oppo A54, Oppo A15, Oppo A12, Oppo A53, etc. The price of Oppo A16 in Indonesia is IDR 1,999,000, and we expect its price in Nepal to be around NPR 18,000 for the only variant of 3/32 GB. 

Oppo A16 Overview

Oppo A16 is a budget-friendly smartphone with decent overall specifications. It can be a good choice for a smartphone with a great battery.

Design and Build Quality

Oppo A16 is a smartphone with 6.52 inches HD+ LCD screen. It has a 3D thin design with a stylish finish. The display has very thin bezels around and is slightly thick on the chin. Similarly, it is an eye care screen that protects the eyes and keeps them comfortable.

It has a water-drop notch housing the front camera. The back features a shiny metallic finish beneath, which is an AG opaque matte texture hidden. Similarly, around the rear panel, the camera design is like the older Oppo phones, i.e., inside a rectangular module. It has a triple camera.

Oppo A16 has a thickness of 8.4 mm and weighs 190 grams. It is available in three color options: Space Silver, Pearl Blue, and Crystal Black.

A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is available for biometrics. Likewise, a 3.5mm headphone jack is also present in the smartphone.

Performance 

Under the hood, Oppo A16 packs an Helio G35 chipset. The processor reduces the lag by 18%.  Following this, it has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. The storage capacity of Oppo A16 is expandable via a microSD card.

The smartphone boots Android 11 based on ColorOS 11.1 out of the box. Some of the software features are System Booster, Game Assistant, 

Camera

The triple camera of Oppo A16 includes a primary camera, a portrait camera, and a macro camera. The smartphone’s primary camera has a 13 MP sensor, while the other cameras have a 2 MP sensor each.

The front camera of the Oppo A16 is an 8 MP sensor for the selfie camera. Due to the AI available in the camera, the pictures are produced by preserving the finest details. 

Both cameras can record videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps) and 720p at 30fps.

The camera also has Dazzling Mode that can intelligently reproduce colors as you see them with mapping software. It enhances color and brightness. Next, it has 15 filters and 7 new filters.

Battery

The entire package gets its life from a 5,000 mAh battery, drawing the power via a USB Type-C port. With a full battery, you can enjoy 21.02 hours of YouTube.

While the battery is only 5%, you can make calls for 1.84 hours. On the other hand, the Super Nighttime Standby Mode reduces the power consumption by 1.21% during nighttime. Furthermore, AI Optimized Night Charge protects the smartphone from charging by controlling the temperature to keep the phone cool.
