Micromax is an Indian smartphone company that was quite popular before Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Samsung took over its market in its own home country. Currently, the Indian Government is promoting “Make in India” products, so the company is taking the opportunity and trying to make an entry into the current smartphone market. They have already launched a couple of devices like Micromax In Note 1, In 1b in the past few months.
The company has now officially launched a new device, Micromax In 1, under the In series in India, and will available for purchase from March 26. The device’s official price starts at INR 9999 for the base variant of the 4/64 GB configuration and INR 11,499 for the 4/128 GB configuration.
Micromax In 1 Overview
Micromax In 1 share many of its features and specifications with the previously launched Micromax In Note 1, like its design and screen. However, it is supposed to be a cheaper version of In Note 1, so there are some compromises.
Design and Display
Design-wise, the device is very similar to the In Note 10. The device has a plastic body and measures 9mm in thickness and weighs around 195 grams. The back panel features a rectangular camera module aligned on the left side and a fingerprint scanner.
It offers a 6.67 inch IPS LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels in a tall aspect ratio of 20:9. The display has a peak brightness of 440 nits and features a center-aligned punch-hole cutout to house the selfie camera.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, the MediaTek Helio G80 processor powers the Micromax In 1 with the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. The Helio G80 processor is an octa-core processor with 2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 and is based on a 12 nm process. It is available in two memory configurations of 4 GB RAM with 64 GB of internal storage and 4 GB RAM coupled with 128 GB of storage.
The phone also provides an option to increase the device’s internal memory with a dedicated microSD card slot. As for the software part, it provides a pure Android 10 experience with no skin, bloatware, and ads on the top.
Camera
The rectangular camera module on the device features a triple camera setup consisting of a 48 MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 2 MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2 MP depth sensor of f/2.4 aperture. Upfront, the hole-punch houses a selfie camera of 8 MP with an f/2.0 aperture.
Both of these setups can take up to 1080p videos at 30 fps. The photography modes in the rear camera include AF, Portrait, Night mode, HDR, AI, Slow Motion Mode, Panorama, GIF. Similarly, the photography modes in the selfie camera include Portrait, face beauty, HDR, Night Mode.
Battery and Other Features
The Micromax In 1 packs a massive 5000 mAH battery with support for 18W fast charging over the USB Type C port. It also has support for reverse charging. For biometric, it offers a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock technology. As for the connectivity, it provides dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB type C.

Micromax In 1 Expected Price in Nepal and Availability
Micromax In 1 is available for purchase in India from March 26. It is available for purchase at INR 9999 for the base variant of the 4/64 GB configuration and INR 11,499 for the 4/128 GB configuration. We can expect the device to start at NPR 17,000 for the base variant when it launches here.
