Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Overview
Mi Note 10 Lite is a mid-range smartphone from Xiaomi with an enormous battery capacity of 5260 mAh with 30W fast charging and Snapdragon 730 G’s chipset. The camera setup offers stunning images. However, the non-expandable internal storage is a potential drawback for the budget you spend. It differs from the non-lite version in terms of the camera system, a plummet from 108MP to 64MP. Hence, the phone is effectively a Mi Note 10 for those who don’t emphasize the photography but are concerned with the other specifications.
Design and Build Quality
The Mi Note 10 Lite is a good mid-range phone with an aluminum mid-frame holding the internals, sandwiched between the two glass panels. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 gives protection to the phone. It has the same 6.47-inch AMOLED display with a gentle curve on the edges and houses the selfie shooter in a U- shaped notch.
Just above the selfie snapper lies the earpiece grille. A thin bezel around the panel is a flagship-grade. Under the display, the fingerprint is fast and accurate. The phone weighs 204 grams.
The power button and the volume rocker lies on the right, with easy access for the fingers. At the bottom of the right side lies a SIM-card tray. The base is the home to the primary mic, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, starting from the left.
Similarly, the phone’s top houses an extra microphone and an IR blaster. A quad camera lies vertically on the left corner of the phone and the branding on the back panel’s bottom-left. The back has a glossy finish and quickly catches the fingerprints, though the fingerprints are invisible.
Performance
Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset powers the phone, and an octa-core processor setup is 2+6 cores configuration. GPU is Adreno 618. Two RAM variants of 6GB and 8GB with an internal storage of 128GB is available. The internal storage is non-expandable.
The phone boots MIUI and runs on top of Android 10. Mi Note 10 Lite has the option between fingerprint and face unlock.
Camera
MI Note 10 Lite has 108MP primary sensor and the telephotos are no more in the Lite version. The resolution of the ultra-wide camera has also slipped. However, the Mi Note 10 Lite still has an excellent camera setup on the market.
The primary camera is a 64MP Quad Bayer sensor, ultra-wide is an 8MP sensor, a 5MP module for the depth sensor, and a 2MP is the macro camera.
The daylight images come out right with details and noise cancellations. The photos have vibrant colors and a wide dynamic range. You also have the AI camera mode to get more contrast and colorful images. The camera offers a 2x toggle in the viewfinder, producing the primary camera’s zoom view.
The ultra-wide-angle snapper gives decent photos with fine details and pleasing colors. The low-light performance of the camera is average but preserves the color amazingly. Night-mode, present only in the primary camera, is pretty impressive.
Images with night-mode reveal details. It works at the 2x zoom level too. Similarly, the portrait mode has good subject detection with fair skin tone. Non-human subjects also bring similar results.
The selfie shooter has a 16MP camera. Images with a selfie camera are fine with good detail. However, the colors are a bit off, giving a more greenish cast. Portraits, too, are not consistent with HDR.
Video up to 4K @30fps is recordable with the primary camera, while the ultra-wide-angle camera can record up to 1080p @ 30fps. The main camera footage is high in quality with natural-looking processing. The ultra-wide-angle camera gives a narrower dynamic range compared to the primary camera. Both cameras provide good stabilization on the video even when enabling 2x zoom.
Battery
A 5260 mAh battery fuels the phone, giving a fantastic endurance. The phone includes a 30W charger but doesn’t support wireless charging.
