Vivo V20 is the latest smartphone from the Vivo V series to be launched in Nepal. The V series lineup is the mid-range series from the company and is primarily focused on the camera and design aspects. The V20 lineup includes the Vivo V20 Pro and Vivo V20 SE along with the vanilla V20. The Vivo V20 comes as the successor to the Vivo V19, with some upgrades in the hardware of the device.
The official price of Vivo V20 in Nepal is Rs. 47,990 for the 8 GB RAM with 128 GB of internal storage variant.
Vivo V20 Overview
While Vivo is known for putting design over the performance, the V20 is a deviation from its formula. The company has put an equal focus on the performance and design aspects of the V20.
Design and Display
Vivo V20 has one of the best designs in any premium mid-range smartphone. The device’s back and front panels are made from glass with plastic side frames. The back panel is an anti-glare, matte glass that is chemically etched to reduce scratches with added anti-fingerprint coating, making the device fingerprint resistant and less slippery.
It offers a 6.44-inches AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, in a tall aspect ratio of 20:9. However, there is no Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the device. The screen features a teardrop notch to house the single front-facing camera. With the screen to body ratio of 83.7 percent, the bezels on the device, especially the bottom chin, are quite noticeable.
Performance and Memory
Vivo V20 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor with Adreno 618 GPU. It is available in the memory configuration of 8 GB RAM coupled with 128 GB/256 GB of internal storage, which can be increased to 2 TB with a dedicated microSD card slot.
As for the software side of the device, it runs on FuntouchOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box, making it the first device in Nepal to come with Android 11.
The rectangular camera module on the back panel of the device features a triple camera setup consisting of a 64 MP primary lens with f/1.9 aperture, an 8 MP ultrawide camera of f/2.2 aperture, and a 2 MP mono camera f/2.4 aperture. Upfront, the device has a 44 MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, housed inside the teardrop notch on the screen.
Both the rear and the front camera setup features Electronic Image Stabilization and can take 4K videos at 30 fps, while the rear setup can also take 1080p videos at 60 fps. The camera app features Dual Video Mode, Slo-Mo video, Steadiface selfie video, portrait, and so on.
Battery and Others
The phone packs a 4000 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging over a USB Type C port, which can charge the device from 0 to 65% in 30 minutes. For the biometrics, it offers an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. It features a unique feature called Memory Recaller, which basically restores the clarity in an old image instantly.
It is available in the color option of Sunset Melody, Midnight Jazz, Moonlight Sonata.
