OPPO A53 Overview
Design and Display
The back and the side frame of the Oppo A53 is made from plastic and has a very similar design to that of its predecessor A52. However, it has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, unlike the side-mounted fingerprint sensor in A52. According to Oppo, the Oppo A53 is ergonomically designed to fit into a single hand.
The A53 has a thickness of 8.4 mm and weighs 186 grams with a dimension of 163.9mm x 75.1mm x 8.4mm. The phone is available in two colors: Electric black and Fancy Blue.
The A53 features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels in a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen has a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Like A52, A53 also contains a single punch hole cutout at the upper left corner of the screen to house the front-facing camera. The display of the A53 is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the top.
Performance and Memory
Oppo A53 is the first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 Chipset. The processor is a octa-cores (4×1.8 GHz Kryo 240 & 4×1.6 GHz Kryo 240) CPU with Adreno 610 GPU.
The phone is available in the configuration of 4GB RAM and 64 GB UFS 2.1 storage. The internal storage capacity of the device can be extended up to 256 GB using an external SD card in the dedicated microSD card slot. The device runs on ColorOS7.2 based on Android 10 out of the box.
Camera
The A53 features a triple camera setup on the back consisting of a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture.
The cameras are lined up vertically in the rectangular camera module on the back, along with the LED flash. The A53 has dropped the wide-angle camera present in its predecessor, the Oppo A52.
Upfront, there is a single-camera setup, which is a 16MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture in the punch hole cutout at the top left corner of the screen. Both the front and the rear camera setup of A53 can record 1080p videos at 30fps and features shooting modes like professional mode, panorama mode, portrait, time-lapse photography, etc.
Battery
The Oppo A53 packs a powerful battery. It is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with the support of 18W Fast Charging.
Like Oppo A52, the unique feature of Oppo A53 is its dual stereo speaker system with Dirac’s automatic audio optimization, which is very rare for the phone at its price range.
