With the motto of releasing a new phone with new specifications every six months, OnePlus launched OnePlus Nord N100 on 26th October 2020. The budget-phone is the successor to the OnePlus Nord. It is also the cheapest in the Nord series. The phone is finally launched in Nepal at the price of NPR 22,999. Let us find out more about this budget-friendly phone.
OnePlus Nord N100 Overview
OnePlus Nord N100 is a standard offering from the brand with a massive 6000 mAh battery supporting 18W Fast Charging. Following this, the 16MP selfie snapper is the phone’s highlighting feature. It has a refresh rate of 90Hz with a Fluid display. It is also the first entry-level offering from the OnePlus.
Design and Build Quality
OnePlus Nord N100 features a 6.52-inches IPS LCD with 1600 x 720 pixels, the bezel-less display houses the selfie snapper in a punched hole layout on the top-corner. N100 has a plastic frame and glass front. The protection to the display is given by the Gorilla Glass 3. The phone has a 90Hz refresh rate. The polycarbonate back with a matte finish has a curved corner. A triple camera setup with LED flash lies on the back’s top corner. Likewise, the fingerprint scanner lies above the OnePlus branding at the back. The phone has a good grip.
A power lock button lies on the right of the frame, and a secondary microphone lies on the top, while the left has a SIM card tray and volume rocker. Similarly, the bottom has a 3.5mm headphone jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille with stereo speaker support.
Performance
Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 460 chipset with an octa-core processor setup of Kryo 240 Quad-core clocking at the speed of 1.8GHz and 4 Kryo 240 cores clocking at the rate of 1.6GHz. The GPU is Adreno 610, taking care of gaming performance and multitasking.
The phone consists of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, expandable. The phone has a clean UI. The face-unlock and fingerprint scanner are fast and accurate. However, the phone is not quite as fast as the OnePlus Nord.
The smartphone runs OxygenOs 10.5 on top of Android 10.
Camera
A triple camera setup at the back has a 13MP primary camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens.
The images with the primary camera are average according to the budget. Oversaturation of the pictures’ color is what doesn’t give precisely accurate to life pictures. Similarly, the shadow is at its maximum level giving awful shots.
An 8MP selfie is within a punch hole at the top of the display.
The selfie, however, looks better. The selfie is sharp, and the skin smoothing is fair enough. The portrait mode also manages to do the task well.
Video of 1080p @30fps is recordable from both front and back cameras. The video lacks stabilization on both cameras. However, the video front the front camera is comparatively better.
Battery
The Nord N100 packs a 5000 mAh battery with 18W proprietary fast charging. The battery life is excellent. Even with Wi-Fi usage, gaming, videos and music streaming, all at the brightest screen, Nord N100 gives over two days of battery life. So if you are someone who does not use their phone much, you may have to charge the phone just twice a week.

Though the Nord N100 is a budget-friendly phone but is not quite as competitive as the other phone with the same budget. As the Realme 7 or the Samsung Galaxy M21 offers better performance and has a superior camera setup.
