Moto G8 Power Lite Overview

Moto G8 Power Lite is the successor of Moto G8 Power, launched in February 2020. The phone has features like a 6.5 inch HD + display with a teardrop notch and a MediaTek P35 chipset, and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which is sure to have a good impression and give tough competition to other budget-friendly phones.

Design and Build Quality

It has an IPS LCD with a size of 6.5 inches and 720 x 1600 pixels. The phone weighs 200 grams. A fingerprint scanner is placed at the back with the Motorola logo on it. The speaker is placed at the lower back on the left, while almost all handsets place the speaker on the bottom edge. A triple camera lies on the back at the top, placed vertically. A selfie shooter lies on the top, at the center featuring a teardrop notch. The volume and the power key are on the left side.

The phone has a plastic frame and two color variants: Arctic Blue and Royal Blue. The smartphone also has a water-repellant coating for protection against water splashes.

Performance

The Moto G8 Power Lite is powered by the MediaTek Helio p35 accompanied by 2.3Ghz Quad-core and 1.8Ghz Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU and 680MHz IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The processor seems relatively weak and slow. It has 4GB RAM with an internal storage of 64GB, which is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie OS, which is slightly outdated as Android 11 is already taking the market.

Camera

If you are looking for a budget-friendly phone with a stunning camera, Moto G8 Power Lite is not something you should go after. The camera performance is not below the average, but you can still get a better camera on a slightly expensive phone, even on some other Moto models.

The smartphone has a 16MP primary camera and a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The pictures are okay in a good light, but the camera fails to have a good impression on a shade or even a little darker place.

The digital zoom can go up to 4x but gives the worst results. The depth sensor used for portraits is also less impressive due to inconsistent background blur. Features like HDR, Face Beauty, Dual camera boke, Panorama, etc., are also available in Moto G8 Power Lite.

The selfie shooter is 8MP that also gives just the average picture quality. The portrait mode has some better-looking selfie.

We can record the video with 1080p and 30fps on both the camera.

Battery

Moto G8 Power lite has a non-removable 5000 mAh battery with 10W rapid charging via a micro USB-port. The battery lasts for up to 3 days as per the company’s claim.
