Be it smartphone competitors news or controversial information, Huawei has always been the talk of the town. Being the second-largest manufacturer of the smartphone to getting banned from the Google Service, Huawei has provided people a topic to talk about the phone. It has now launched another phone in the budget segment range: Huawei Y6s. It was launched on 30th January 2020. The phone was launched in Nepal on 6th February 2020 as the mid-range budget phone, and the price of the Huawei Y6s is NPR. 14,990.
Huawei Y6s Overview
Huawei Y6s is launched under its popular Y series. Since the phone is very budget-friendly, we can only have average performance. A single rear camera is present on the phone while the battery is also not massive, yet it has an expansive memory.
Design and Build Quality
Huawei Y6s has a 6.09 inches IPS LCD with 720 x 1560 pixels. It has a glass front and plastic back and a plastic frame. Likewise, the display has a thin bezel. Y6s also blocks the harmful blue light with a TUV Rheinland certified screen, protecting your eyes. Similarly, Y6s has a rounded corner with the dewdrop notch housing the selfie snapper. On the back, half of the design is smooth, and half is the matte finish. The phone weighs 150 grams.
The phone on the back has a single camera setup accompanied by an LED flash starting from the top-left corner. On the right, the volume rocker and a power button are present. Likewise, the top has a headphone jack, while the bottom has a charging port (micro USB). The SIM card tray is on the left side. You can have a dual SIM and a memory card in the tray. Lastly, Huawei Y6s is available in three color variants: Orchid Blue, Starry Black, and Sunrise Orange.
The fingerprint sensor is at the back, in the center. It also supports the face unlock. Both the sensors are fast and accurate. Moreover, the phone can be unlocked in a flash and protects your personal information.
Performance
An Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) MediaTek Helio P35 processor powers the smartphone. The inbuilt memory of 32GB of the phone is expandable up to 512GB, while the RAM is 3GB. Similarly, PowerVR GE8320 is handling the graphics.
The phone boots EMUI 9.1 on top of Android 9.0 (Pie). Huawei Y6s has the Google Mobile Service even while facing the ban. The OS is also not the latest as Android 10 is already adopted.
Camera
The Huawei on the rear flaunts a 13MP camera having an aperture of f/1.8. The camera is available with an LED flash.
The phone’s picture quality is good enough, as expected in the budget-friendly phone. The images preserve details and give adequate saturation. But the lowlight photo is a disappointment. Meanwhile, HDR mode is a must-try, which offers more details.
The phone has an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture housing in a dewdrop style notch on the front.
Videos of up to 1080p at 30fps are recordable with both the front and rear cameras. The stabilization of the video is average.
Battery
The phone has a 3020 mAh battery. It doesn’t support fast charging, and it is okay with the budget you spend. Meanwhile, it has AI power-saving technology. A full day performance is achievable with the fully charged battery, avoiding the game.
