Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, a rugged yet worldly smartphone, is revealed in the European market on 4th March. The smartphone is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy XCover 4. And to let you know, the smartphone is launched after five years of its predecessor. The price for the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 in the European market is 329 EUR (around NPR 45,600). If the phone gets launched in Nepal, we expect the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5’s price to be around NPR 55,000.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 Overview
The smartphone is specially manufactured for challenging environments like fields and factories, which address extreme heat, rain, and snow while working outdoors. With the motto of “Easy to use, hard to break,” you can use the phone even with gloves; it has a replaceable battery and is easy to charge.
Design and Build Quality
The smartphone features a 5.3-inches HD+ TFT display having 720 x 1480 pixels. The display has Gorilla Glass 6 protection and thick bezels around. It is available in only one color, i.e., Graphite Black, for now.
It has IP68 water and dust resistance, due to which it can withstand up to the 1.5-meter depth of water for up to 30 minutes. Likewise, for the durability of the smartphone, it meets the MIL-STD-810H standard. It can also resist a drop of up to 1.5 meters. The touch sensitivity of the phone is acquired even with the gloves on. For the safety of sensitive information in real-time, which is critical to the business, Samsung Knox protects the hardware.
Performance
The processor of the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is Exynos850, coupled with octa-core and Mali-G52. It is a mid-range processor. The clocking speed of the CPU is 2.0 GHz. Following this, the RAM is 4GB combined with 64GB inbuilt storage. The storage is further expandable via microSDXC.
The smartphone runs One UI 2.0 on top of Android 11 out-of-box. It incorporates an NFC chip to allow the smartphone to act as a wallet or transportation card.
Camera
Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is sports a single rear camera of 16MP with an aperture of f/1.8, whereas the selfie camera is a 5MP sensor having an f/2.2 aperture. LED flashlight is next to the rear camera, which is usable in the form of a torchlight.
The primary camera can capture professional-grade pictures and video, while the front camera is ideal for video meetings. It even includes Samsung Knox Capture for scanning.
The rear camera can capture the video of 1080p at 30fps.
Battery
Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 packs a 3,000 mAh battery. The battery charges via USB Type-C port at 15W. It also supports charging via POGO pins. Meanwhile, the battery is replaceable.

Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 Expected Price in Nepal and Availability
Samsung confirmed the availability of the smartphone in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. It will go for sale in the European market from 12th March at the price of 329 EUR. We can expect the phone price to be around NPR 55,000 in Nepal. However, the smartphone may not arrive in Nepal.
