Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro Overview
Design
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro draws inspiration from the Galaxy Buds Plus but has a sleeker design. Both the earbuds and the pebble-shaped case have a glossy finish on the exterior portion and a matte finish on the interior.
The Galaxy Buds Pro has an in-canal fit design that thoroughly fills up the ear canal, enhancing the Active Noice Cancellation (ANC). Each bud weighs 6.3 grams, whereas the case weighs 44.9 grams.
The Galaxy Buds Pro isn’t just sweatproof and splash-resistant but comes with full IPX7 water resistance. However, IPX7 only applies to the Galaxy Buds Pro themselves and not the charging case.
The Galaxy Buds Pro is available in Phantom Silver, Phantom Violet, and Phantom Black color options.
Audio
Samsung has introduced a two-way driver system in the Galaxy Buds Pro. Each unit features 11mm woofers and 6.5mm tweeters. The woofer is for deeper, low range sounds and tweeters for delivering clear and crisp treble.
The Galaxy Earbuds Pro has an adjustable Noise Cancellation feature called Intelligent Active Noice Cancellation. According to Samsung, the Intelligent Active Noise Cancellation can cut external noise by upto 99% of audible frequencies.
The Intelligent Active Noise Cancellation feature automatically adjusts the ANC levels based on the user’s environment. The user can also manually fine-tune how much background noise is silenced using the Samsung Wearable app.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro offers 360 Audio with Dolby Head Tracking technology for providing a spatial audio experience.
Each earbud packs three microphones comprising one high SNR mic, one inner and one outer mic, and a Voice Pickup Unit, which helps to deliver a premium ANC and emphasize the user’s voice over the background noise. The earbuds also feature Wind Shield technology to reduce the microphones’ susceptibility to wind noise.
Other Features
Another new feature introduced in the Galaxy Bud Pro is Auto Switch. The Auto Switch feature allows two Galaxy devices to connect with the Galaxy Buds Pro simultaneously. It also allows the easy switch between Galaxy devices for a seamless experience.
Another feature includes the support of SmartThings Find, a system for tracking down lost devices using a network of Bluetooth signals to retrieve the buds if they’re misplaced or stolen.
Battery and Connectivity
Each bud has a 61 mAh built-in battery. The battery can power the buds up to 5 hours of non-stop listening with ANC turned on and up to 8 hours when turned off. The case also contains a 472 mAh cell, which delivers a total battery life of up to 18 hours with ANC turned on and 28 hours when turned off.
The Galaxy Buds Pro supports fast charging, with 5 minutes of charge providing one hour of music playback. It also supports wireless charging and works with any Qi wireless chargers.
The Galaxy Buds Pro uses Bluetooth 5.0 and is highly optimized to be used with Galaxy devices.
