Samsung Launched Galaxy A02 With A 5000mAh Battery

Back in November, Samsung launched the budget-friendly smartphone Galaxy A02. Today Samsung has introduced super affordable Samsung Galaxy A02 in Thailand. Let us see its specifications, camera, storage, and expected price in Nepal.  

Samsung Galaxy A02 Overview

The phone is similar to that of Galaxy A02s. With a huge 5000mAh battery, the phone outlasts for a day with normal usage. However, the phone is not made for heavy gaming performance as a MediaTek chipset backs it up.  The phone is targeted at entry-level Android users, so expecting a good performance might not come true. 

Display and Design

Like Galaxy A02s, the phone features a 6.5 inches PLS IPS panel on the front. It supports HD+ and has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The display on the top has a waterdrop notch housing the selfie camera. On the front, the phone is protected by glass, which makes it quite durable. 

For the design aspects, the plastic back panel is covered by strips. It is also covered by the plastic frame around it. There is a pill-shaped module for the dual-cameras and an LED flashlight to the left side. The phone weighs 206g, which is slightly heavy than the Galaxy A02s; however, it is not so difficult to carry around. 

Performance and Memory

While the Snapdragon chipset backs up the Galaxy A02s, the Galaxy A02 uses a MediaTek MT6739 chipset. It is supported by a Quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz. Similarly, the graphics work is handled by the PowerVR GE8100.

The phone has only one variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. It can also be expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. 

The phone runs on the One UI core edition on top of Android 10. One UI is a toned-down version of Samsung’s custom UI. 

Camera

On to the camera portion, the phone has a dual-camera featuring a 13MP primary sensor having f/1.9 aperture and a 2MP macro sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. 

With the dual cameras, the phone takes a pretty colorful image. Although it lacks some details, the camera portion is quite impressive according to the budget. The other camera features include Digital Zoom, Touch to focus, and Face detection. 

There is a 5MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0 on the front. With the back camera, the user can shoot the video on 1080p at 30fps. 

Battery and other features

The phone features a huge 5000mAh battery with a 7.75W charger. With this huge battery, the company claims that it can give 19hour of playback time on a full charge. 

The rest of the specifications include USB2.0 for charging. Likewise, the other connectivity options include WiFi-802.11b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, Wifi-Direct, 3G, and 4G. For biometrics/security, the phone has a FaceID unlock in the absence of a physical fingerprint sensor. The other sensors on the phone are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy A02 has launched in Thailand at the price of 2,999 Thai Bhat. That means the expected price in Nepal will be Rs.12,000. After it is available in Nepal, it can be purchased through authorized stores all over Nepal.
