On 23rd March, OnePlus launched its 9 Series with three members on it. The high-end devices were the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro, while the OnePlus 9R is a cheaper variant of the OnePlus 9. It is a gaming-focused device, exclusive to India for now. The expected price of OnePlus in Nepal is NPR 72,000 for the 8/128 GB and NPR 80,000 for the 12/256 GB.
OnePlus 9R Overview
OnePlus 9R has a great camera with optical image stabilization, while the OnePlus 9 doesn’t have it. Meanwhile, the camera on the OnePlus 9R is not from Hasselblad. OnePlus 9R has some high-end specifications like an AMOLED display, 65W wired charging, and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Design and Build Quality
OnePlus 9R flaunts a 6.55-inches Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p. It has an HDR10+ certification. Similarly, the display has a refresh rate of 120Hz. It has a touch sampling rate of 240Hz for all your five fingers at once. Just like the OnePlus 9, it also has a flat panel.
The display has a left-aligned punch-hole selfie. Next, it has a quad-camera setup on the rear inside a rectangular module. OnePlus 9R is available in two color variants: Carbon Black, Lake Blue. The phone weighs 189 grams.
It has an under-display fingerprint sensor, working smoothly.
Performance
OnePlus 9R is specially manufactured for casual and hardcore gamers. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. Following this, Adreno 650 GPU handles the graphics of the device.
With game-changing 5G connectivity and an enhanced cooling system, the gaming experience is fast, smooth, and beautiful. It has 14 different temperature sensors, constantly monitoring the temperature of the smartphone during gaming.
The processor further combines with either 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage or 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage. The processing speed is 12% faster, while the GPU is improved by 14%. As a result of which, the smartphone is a gaming power-house.
OnePlus 9R boots on Android 11 based on OxygenOS 11 out-of-the-box.
Camera
As the other members of the series have the camera from Hasselblad, it is not the case for the OnePlus 9R. The smartphone’s quad-camera is a 48 MP Sony IMX586 main camera, 16 MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2 MP monochrome camera.
Video is recordable up to 4K at 60fps. The EIS stabilizations make the video smooth.
The selfie on the front is a 16 MP lens; it records videos of 1080p@30fps.
Battery
It packs a 4500 mAh battery. You can get a full day’s power with 15 minutes of charge. The battery also supports a 65W Warp charge. It fills charge from 1 to 100% in just 39 minutes.
With improved charging technology that keeps your phone cool, you can keep the game on even while charging.

OnePlus 9R is exclusive to India and has the starting price of INR 39,999 for the base variant. There is no news about its launch in Nepal. If it launches in Nepal, we expect the price of the OnePlus 9R to start from NPR 72,000 for the 8/128 GB and NPR 80,000 for the 12/256 GB.
