The hype OnePlus Nord has been creating is something we can’t ignore at all and the global hype OnePlus Nord made before launching is worth by the phone. Launched on 21st July 2020, OnePlus Nord entered the mid-range phone market after the OnePlus 8 Pro, whose price is over 1 Lakhs. One Plus Nord Price in Nepal is NRS 53,999 (8/128GB) and NRS 63,999 (12/256GB).
OnePlus Nord Overview
Getting performance-centric smartphones on the mid-range budget is good enough to the users and the OnePlus Nord is made to acquire that. The phone is a fantastic flagship product. It has all the staples such as Warp Charge Fast charging, AMOLED display, 5G support, on-screen fingerprint sensors, and the latest Android version(Q), giving an excellent performance. But the non-expandable internal memory is a piece of bad news.
Design and Build Quality
With a clean design and flat display, the phone gives a classic look. The front has a pill-shaped selfie shooter punched hole on the left-top. The Gorilla Glass 5 protection to the display is appreciable. The 6.44 inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate gives a smooth experience. A little heavier than the OnePlus 8, Nord weighs 184grams. It is also slightly thicker.
Making a temporary protective layer, it has a plastic screen protector on display and also a plastic middle frame. The alert slider and metal power button are on the right. The volume rocker is not a metal, though.
A SIM-card tray is present without any place for microSD as the memory is non-expandable. It also lacks a headphone jack. USB 2.0 Type-C port and single bottom-firing speaker lies at the bottom. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Performance
With Snapdragon 765G chipset paired with plenty of RAM, it has Kryo 475 custom ARM cores as its helm. There are six 1.8GHz Kryo 475 Silver units. Additionally, GPU is Adreno 620. Snapdragon 765G gives good performance to a heavy gamer. RAM is LPDDR4X, and the chips operate at UFS 2.1 speeds.
The central part of the phone is Oxygen OS 10.5.2 on top of Android 10 core. The phone maintains what is still one of the snappiest and most responsive Android experiences in the industry. The always-on display is brought to reality in the shape of a customizable display clock. Plenty of visual customization options like a dark theme is available.
The feature is acquired through the setting. For gaming, you can go to the Fnatic mode, which blocks all the notifications, restricts background activities, and disables the second SIM to ensure that all the resources will go to the game.
Camera
The quad-camera consists of a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. The camera is arranged vertically at the back
The primary camera gives a good quality picture with good color detection, while the depth sensor has no perfect edge detection. The ultra-wide-angle camera gives good details but a little dark. Also, the images are a little more saturated except for the primary camera. But the overall picture is pleasing enough.
The front camera is placed in a pill shape notch at the front with a dual camera of 32MP and 8MP for primary and secondary, respectively. The detail and sharpness are good enough, giving vibrant colors and no over-saturation. You also have the freedom to choose between two cameras for the selfie shots.
OnePlus can capture video up to 4K @30fps from the primary and ultra-wide camera. The videos with OIS in a primary camera give high stabilization and excellent details. There is a super stable mode too.
Selfie video is recordable from both the selfie shooter and up to 4K resolution but lacks stabilization.
Battery
The phone is powered by a 4115mAh battery supporting a Warp Charge of 30W. The time for the full charge is one hour, starting from zero percent battery.
