At CES 2021 last month, MSI refreshed its lineup of portable gaming laptops with NVIDIA’s brand new GeForce RTX 3000 series graphics card. Featuring the thin-and-light gaming laptop is the new MSI GS66 Stealth (2021), which is set to launch soon in the Nepali market. The models come with RTX 3060 through RTX 3080 Max-Q GPU with either an FHD or UHD display and start at $1,799.
MSI GS66 Stealth 2021 Overview
GS66 Stealth is a robust portable gaming laptop packed with the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series GPU. MSI equips the latest 10th Gen Intel Core processor and a 15.6-inch display with a super-high refresh rate of up to 300Hz.
Design and Display
MSI GS66 Stealth features a matte black finish and a low-profile design, giving the notebook an elegant core black aluminum chassis. Dazzling in the Core Black design, even the MSI dragon emblem is in black with a semi-gloss matte finish. MSI states that the Stealth design delivers understated confidence within the gaming and professional world.
The notebook’s interior reveals more of the sandblasted black metal deck, per-key RGBMSI gaming keyboard, and a large touchpad below the keyboard.
MSI GS66 Stealth has a 15.6-inch IPS level gaming display with relatively thin bezels. The notebook will be available with either an FHD (1920 x 1080p) resolution or a UHD (3840 x 2160p) resolution with a blazingly fast refresh rate of up to 300Hz and a 3ms response rate. Besides, MSI also added a QHD IPS G-Sync screen with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, but the model won’t be available until sometime in Q2 2021.
Performance
MSI GS66 Stealth equips the latest 10th Gen Intel Core processor clocked up to 5.0 GHz for multitasking and heavy gaming. It will be available with the 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7-10870 processor, though it is configurable up to an Intel Core i9-10980HK processor.
The processor is coupled with the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series graphics card. It is NVIDIA’s first 8nm chip, which uses its 2nd generation RTX Ampere architecture. The GS66 Stealth comes with three models – RTX 3060, RTX 3070, and RTX 3080 Max-Q GPU for boosting your gaming performance. The system also uses Nvidia’s Optimus technology to switch to its integrated Intel UHD Graphics automatically.
Memory and Cooling
MSI packed the GS66 Stealth with 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM with two SO-DIMM slots, configurable up to 64GB. Likewise, it has a 1TB NVMe SSD storage with two M.2 slots and support for NVMe PCIe Gen 3.
The GS66 Stealth adopts MSI’s exclusive Cooler Boost Technology – the new Cooler Boost Trinity+, for optimal thermal dissipation. It consists of seven heat pipes and three fans with a 0.1mm thin sharp-edged fan blade.
Keyboard, Touchpad, and Webcam
The GS66 Stealth boasts the Per-key RGB gaming keyboard by SteelSeries. You can customize each key with the SteelSeries 3 engine, create a custom color scheme using the 16.8 million colors in the lineup, and even watch the lights dance using the preconfigured profiles. It has a 5.5 x 2.5 inches long glass touchpad below the keyboard that performs well with Windows 10 gestures. Also, the notebook integrates a 720p Windows Hello IR HD type webcam.
Battery and other features
MSI GS66 Stealth is fueled by a four-cell 99.9 Watt-hour large battery that delivers longer runtime and ships with a 230 Watt AC adapter. The battery is the largest that the TSA will allow on an airplane. For audio, the GS66 Stealth features the MSI’s new front-firing Duo Wave Speaker tuned by Dynaudio sound system.
Another highlight that the MSI added to its lineup is the support for Wi-Fi 6E. Connectivity-wise, the GS66 Stealth has Three Type-A USB 3.2, one Type-C USB 3.2, one Thunderbolt 3, one HDMI 2.0, one audio combo jack, Ethernet, and a circular port for a charger.

MSI GS66 Stealth 2021 Price in Nepal and Availability
MSI GS66 Stealth comes with a number of options. The laptop equipped with RTX 3060 chip starts at $1,799, with RTX 3070 starts at $2,399, or with the new RTX 3080 chip starts at $2,699. You get FHD, UHD, or QHD display with a 240Hz or 300Hz refresh rate.
MSI GS66 Stealth 2021 is expected to be available in Nepal soon, with the 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, RTX 3070 GPU, and 2TB SSD storage. The configured notebook price in Nepal is yet to be known; however, we expect it to be priced at NPR 359,999 approximately.
