The Raider series of laptops is the lineup of gaming laptops from MSI. The company has recently updated the GE66 series with an up-to-date graphic card and calling it the GE66 Raider 2021. The GE66 2021 can feature up to a 10th Gen intel core i9 processor coupled with GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics card. The device is expected to arrive in the Nepali market soon.
MSI GE66 Raider 2021 Overview
The MSI GE66 Raider 2021 is the first laptop to be equipped with Wi-Fi 6E. The device offers the latest processors and GPU configurations, and more.
Design and Build
The device retains the design of its 2020 model. The lid cover and the device’s main deck is made from aluminum with plastic inner frames. The device’s body has a clean silver exterior with a darker interior.
The lid features a Dragon Shield logo, while the bottom of the device features a Dragon Armor Carving design with small rubber feet accompanied by a hard-plastic foot in the middle. The device also retains the giant light bar on the front edge. The lightbar is customizable through the SteelSeries app and supports 16.8 million color combinations.
The device has a dimension of 358 x 267 x 23.4 mm (WxDxH) and weighs 2.38 kg. The device contains one USB Type-A port, one USB Type-C port, a headphone jack on the left edge and two USB Type-A port, and an SD card reader on the right edge. Similarly, most of the IO panels are on the back edge containing a mini Display port, a USB Type-C port, an HDMI port, and an RJ 45 port, with a configurable light bar on the front edge.
Screen
The device’s screen is a 15.6-inch IPS display with an FHD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The screen is available at the refresh rate option of either 240Hz or 300 Hz. Another variant of the device comes with a screen with a UHD resolution of 3840×2160 pixels at a 60 Hz refresh rate. However, the variant to hit the Nepali market is not known.
The panel has a maximum brightness of 320+ nits, more than enough for indoor use. However, not good enough for outdoor use or setup with very bright lighting conditions. Thick bezels on the top and bottom portions surround the display of the device. However, the bezes on the right and the left portion is minimum.
Performance and Memory
The GE66 Raider 2021 is powered by the latest 10th Gen intel core processors with configuration options of up to the latest Intel Core i9-10980HK processor. However, the Nepali variant will be powered by the 10th Gen i7 processor. The processors coupled with Nvidia GeForce 30 series GPU powers the device. The GeForce 3070 GPU variant device will be available in the Nepali market.
The device offers two SO-DIMM Slots for DDR4-3200 RAM with support of up to 64GB and two M.2 SSD slots with support of NVMe PCIe Gen3. The GE66 Raider 2021 runs on Windows 10 Home OS out of the box.
Keyboard and Trackpad
The keyboard is placed at the center of the inner chassis, with no NumPad section. There 1.5 mm distance between each key. The backlit keyboard with per-key RGB illumination can be configured using the Dragon Center or SteelSeries Engine 3.
The trackpad on the device is taller and a bit narrower than the GS66 series. The trackpad has a glass surface with precision drivers. It supports multi-touch and can handle daily tasks and gestures smoothly.
Battery and Other Features
A four-cell 99.9Whr Li-Ion battery fuels up the laptop and comes with a 230 Watt AC adapter. The device’s audio is handled by the dual speakers tuned by Dynaudio. These speakers fire through the grills on the device’s left and right edges.
The device features Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and an RJ 45 port for connectivity. The GE66 Raider 2021 is the first laptop in the world to be equipped with Wi-Fi 6E. The webcam is capable of taking 1080p videos at 30fps. The laptop does not feature a fingerprint scanner for security.

MSI GE66 Raider 2021 Price in Nepal and Availability
The MSI GE66 Raider 2021 is expected to arrive in Nepal soon, with a 10th Gen Intel i7 processor, GeForce RTX 3070 GPU, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, and 2 TB SSD storage. However, the price of the device is still unknown.
