Meizu has launched a new smartwatch on 1st June 2021 as Meizu Watch. The brand launched its first-ever smartwatch as Meizu Mix back in 2016. The price of the newly launched smartwatch in China is CNY 1,499, which is around NPR 27458. So, the expected price of the Meizu Watch in Nepal is NPR 30,000.

Meizu Watch Overview

As Meizu has launched a new smartwatch after five years of the first release, it has several upgrades made in the watch. The brand has given a new design to the smartwatch. Let’s find out about the features and specifications of the smartwatch.

Design and Build Quality

Meizu Watch has all screens and buttons on the side. It flaunts a 1.78-inches AMOLED panel. It has a resolution of 368 x 448 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate; the dimension is the same as the recently launched Apple Watches. . The smartwatch measures a dimension of 46 x 38.4 x 12.9 mm.

A 2.5D Gorilla Glass guards the screen of the Meizu Watch. The body has 6-series Aluminum alloy chassis. Likewise, the base has a ceramic material. The dial is 46mm in size. Similarly, the screen has a sharpness of 326 PPI and a brightness of 500 nits.

It has two color options of Black rock and Azure and comes with a fluorine rubber strap. Meizu Watch weighs 43 grams without the strap and 69 grams with the strap.

Processor and Software

The smartwatch has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 4100 chip. It uses a 12 nm fabrication process and has four Cortex-A53 cores. Similarly,  the chipset combines with 1 GB of RAM and a storage of 8 GB.

One of the best features is the new “Flyme for Watch” system. It is based on the Android code and inherits the capabilities of vanilla Flyme OS. 

Health and Fitness Tracking

Like all the recently released smartwatches, it can also measure your heart rate and monitor the blood-oxygen level. When the heart rate is abnormal, it supports active abnormal distress function.

It can also track your sleep and stress. Likewise, it has 13 different exercise modes like running, table tennis, cycling, etc. 

Meizu also teamed up with Meixin to create professional health tests. The high-end ceramic in the smartwatch base is not prone to allergies. For people living in China, it has the facility of “SOS emergency call.” On pressing the side button five times continuously, the watch will call the emergency contact automatically. 

Battery

Fueling the smartwatch is a 420 mAh battery. The battery gets charged via mCharge. A quick top-up of 15 minutes can get you 35% of the charge when you are in a hurry. It takes 45 minutes for the full charge.

According to Meizu’s claim, the battery lasts for up to 36 hours with a single charge. Also, one crucial thing to keep in mind is that charging can be done with a proprietary adapter with pogo pins as it does not support a wireless charger. And you need to have your own USB Type-C cable and charger.

Other features

Meizu Watch has an eSIM so that you can call and text or even stream the music without having a smartphone to help it. It also features Meizu Pay for cashless transactions.

Meizu Watch supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, and LTE.

The smartwatch is available for purchase in China at CNY 1,499. Since the brand is inactive in Nepal, we doubt the launch of the Meizu Watch in Nepal. However, if it gets here through any other channel, the expected price of the Meizu Watch in Nepal is NPR 30,000.
