Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand Haylou is known for manufacturing high quality earbuds and smartwatches at a budget range pricing. The company recently launched a new smartwatch Haylou RS3 that offers multiple smart user functions such as built-in GPS, fitness tracking and health monitoring.
Haylou RS3 Overview
Haylou RS3 is a budget smartwatch with several attractive specs and features. It comes with an appealing body design and display. The device features different sports modes for monitoring your high intensity activities. With a durable battery backup and consistent functionality, you can easily rely on this smartwatch to keep yourself on track with daily routines.
Design and Display
The body is enclosed in an aluminum alloy frame with two control buttons on the side and has a 5.05 x 4.34 x 1.25cm dimension. Complementing the body framing, the display panel has a 2.5D curved glass on top for a more stylish appearance. The matte sand-like finish on straps makes them scratch and fingerprint resistant.
Haylou RS3 features a 1.2 inch circular AMOLED display with an HD screen resolution of 390 x 390 pixels. The smartwatch is IP69 certified and has a 5ATM water resistance that prevents it from being damaged under 50 meters’ water pressure for 10 minutes.
Health and Fitness Monitoring
Haylou RS3 monitors your heart rate and updates the status 24/7, using an intelligent heart rate algorithm. It uses an optical sensor to measure the oxygen saturation level in blood. It can automatically monitor sleep status, record sleep data, and analyze sleep stage and time. It also provides guided breathing exercises for stress control.
The smartwatch can track 14 different sports modes, including both indoor and outdoor like swimming, basketball, cycling, hiking and many more. It has a six-axis accelerometer that keeps track of your physical movement in real time and provides a professional exercise report based on exercise type.
GPS and Compatibility
Halylou RS3 integrates a dedicated GPS chip that calculates your distance covered during running, cycling, and walking activities. General features like weather forecast, pedometer and music playback are also available. Its built-in multifunctional NFC supports bus cards, access cards and scan code payment.
The watch won’t be able to receive or make calls; however, it gives a reminder of incoming calls, messages and notifications. You can connect the smartwatch with your phone via Bluetooth. Its companion app is ‘Haylou Fun’ which is available for both Android and iOS.
Battery
The smartwatch carries a 230mAh lithium battery that Haylou claims to have up to 7 days of standby time on normal usage. But with GPS turned on, it only lasts for up to 25 hours on a single charge.

Hayolu RS3 was launched in the international market on May 11, 2021 and is available for purchase from online store for 80$. The smartwatch isn’t yet published in Nepal but is expected to reach the smartwatch market soon.
